Camping and Arizona

It's been a while since I have blogged. Mostly because I do not have the Internet at home. Matt and I have been pretty busy lately with work and school, but we definitely made some time to play.

In August Matt and I went camping out in the West Desert with his sister Annie and her husband John. It was quite an experience! We had a lot of fun making tin foil dinners and visiting with each other, but when it came time to go to bed, the weather was not cooperative! The wind was blowing so hard all night and was raining (pooring) off and on. Annie and John's tent did not come with a cover so they ended up moving to the back of their truck at 3:00 am. Needless to say we did not get a lot of sleep.

Over Labor Day we decided to drive to Gilbert, Arizona where Matt's sister Jen and her family live. Matt's parents were visiting Jen for a few weeks and his sister Sarah's family decided to drive up from Texas to spend the weekend. Annie and John decided it would be fun to drive down as well so we hopped on the band wagon and drove down. We left Friday at around 1 pm and arrived at 1 am. It was a pretty uneventful drive, but we were very glad to have made it. We ended up putting our bed together and then went for a midnight (well, 2 am) swim in Jen's pool. It was awesome! It really made me want my own pool. We spent the weekend swimming, visiting, watching movies, and eating. We even took family pictures around the pool...some in the pool! It was so fun to have everyone together. Thanks Jen and Ryan for letting us come visit!

What fun summer vacations. I love AZ... was it blazing hot? That sucks that you got caught in the rain on your other camp out!

Yeah, camping can sometimes bring some unexpected adventures but it still sounded fun. Arizona looks beautiful, by the way.
