Christmas, New Year's and Kate's Blessing

Wow! It's been a pretty crazy and REALLY fun couple of weeks! The Monday before Christmas we had a party over at my parents' home. We had yummy homemade soup in breadbowls for dinner, then the grandkids reinacted the nativity, then opened presents. We had a great time!

Then on Christmas Eve day we started early at about 12:30 pm. We picked up tickets to our show and headed to Pei Wei with the Hawkins. We go there every year on Christmas Eve for lunch. After lunch we saw True Grit at The District. We then headed over to Matt's parents' home for more food, games, and more presents!

Christmas morning was so special. It was Kate's first Christmas! She was really happy and just enjoyed every part of it.

After opening presents we made Matt's family recipe called Manna then headed over to my parents' for Christmas morning breakfast. We ate and visited for quite some time. After, we decided to stick around and watch a movie in the theater room.

For New Year's Eve we watched Shaun and Lindsey's kids for a couple of hours, had dinner with my folks then watched A-Team with them. We got home around 10:30 pm and I was asleep by 11:00 pm! I think this was the first year I have not stayed up till midnight since I was a little kid. It felt kind of weird! The next morning we decided to celebrate by going to IHOP for breakfast. I had the banana bread french toast and it was sooo good! It was like eating dessert!

Today Kate was blessed. It was a VERY special day for all of us. Matt gave her a very neat blessing and we bore our testimonies. After the meeting we headed back to our home for BBQ beef sandwiches. We have never had everyone over all at once so it was kinda crazy, but awesome! We are so grateful to have such great support for our little family. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and show your love.
