Independence Day

Oh no!  I haven't blogged for so long that I can't remember what we have done even a couple of months ago.  I have to really think.

Ok so we got up on July 4th and bummed around for a bit and got ready.  We headed to the annual neighborhood 4th of July celebration at the bowery behind the church, but until then we played around outside.  It was a very nice morning.

Putting on Katie's shoes.  i don't know why she has a binky in her mouth.  She must have found one since she hasn't used one since she was 6 months old.

Awww, yes, dirt.  Her favorite!

This is our neighbor's doggy. katie loves him!!!

The program began at 9 am with a flag ceremony, passing of the flag, speakers, and musical numbers.  Katie didn't last that long and kept running around the park, but our blanket and bag was on the grass in the middle of where everyone was so we couldn't leave.  It began to be VERY hot so even though it was a good program, it was quite a bit longer than last year and longer than we had planned on it being.  They had a continental breakfast, but we decided since there were so many people and Katie was restless we went to Kneaders for their yummy french toast.

We had planned on going to the zoo after the flag ceremony, but because it was so hot we decided to forego the aforementioned plan and hang out with my parents and Shaun's family.  That afternoon we met Matt's family at the movie theater and saw Brave.  Katie was very good and liked the bears.  We then had Matt's family over for a barbeque at our house after the movie.  It was a fun day!
