General Conference weekend in October we went up to Bear Lake to work on my parent's new house.
Driving with a toddler for 3 hours is not much fun, but we made it! She finally fell asleep in the car toward the end of the drive. We were able to stay in the Master Bedroom on an air mattress in the middle of cabinets, a sink, boards, etc. It made it fun and interesting, though.
In the morning we woke up way before everyone else so we hung out and checked out the house. Katie thoroughly enjoyed it!! So much free room to run and roam.
When everyone woke up we had some breakfast and started on the house. We (ya, me and Katie for a second, but mostly my dad, Matt and my brother Jeff) took off the casings and then started on ripping out the tile. Katie loves tools and "helps" anytime she can.
Out the back there is a cool porch. We spent quite a bit of time out there running around and playing while the boys were working.
Once conference started Katie, my mom, my grandparents, and I went in to the bedroom, turned on conference and listened. Katie enjoyed her coloring activities.
The view out the back of the house is gorgeous!!
We had lunch and the boys continued working on the tile and the countertops. My sister-in-law, neice, and nephew came over. They were staying at her parents cabin. We played for a while and then it was time for the boys to get ready, have dinner and go to conference. The girls watched a movie and got ready for bed.
Sunday was a lazy day listening to conference and enjoying being on vacation.
It was a weekend made for work, but we had lots of fun too! I'm so excited to get the house all finished.
