Bear Lake - Labor Day Trip

This year for Labor Day we decided to head up to Bear Lake with my parents. My dad's sister's family would also be joining us for the weekend.  We were lucky and were able to stay in a trailor this time.   We got there late on Friday evening and got all set up.  Katie enjoyed playing with her second cousins way past her bedtime, but hey, we were on vacation!

We woke up the next morning to a freezing cold rain!  Oh no!  So we all snuggled up, watched movies, played games, and visited with each other for a bit.  Later that morning it stopped raining, but was still cold so we went up to see a house up the road a bit that was for sale that my parents were considering purchasing.  We loved it and hoped my parents were able to get it.  Lucky for us, a few weeks later they did!!!  The layout of the house is perfect.  There is quite a bit that still needs to be done and we have since spent a few weekends up there working on some projects.  More to come on that.

After looking at the house we went to the famous La Beau's restaurant for lunch.  So yummy!  Since we were right by the shed we grabbed my dad's two jet skiis and went right to the marina to launch it.  We were not planning on getting in the water and were in our t-shirt and jeans, but my dad had some life jackets in the back of his trunk and off Matt and I went!  It was still really cold and windy, which made the waves quite large and crazy, but seriously!  It was so fun!!!  We both got sopping wet as the waves crashed over us on our way to the lot.  Katie drove back with my parents in their truck.

That afternoon it got quite warm and we were able to enjoy the lake, jet ski's, and other activities in the sun such as the inflatable pool of my cousins'.   It was Katie's favorite of the entire trip.

She would not take off her life jacket.  When it was time for her nap we took it off and she threw a little fit. :)

Sunday we relaxes and enjoyed being with each other.  We went for a drive and looked at some houses.  Monday was still a little cold, but we took advantage of it being the last time we would be up there for the year (we thought) and played in the water and on the jet skiis.  We love Bear Lake!  I'm so happy we have the opportunity to go up there.
