I AM.....

PREGNANT!!!

Matt and I are very excited to announce that we are excpecting our first baby in October. We decided about a year ago we would start trying in March of this year, but when we heard Lindsey was pregnant, we got a little more anxious. It only took a couple of months for the miracle to happen.
We went to Bear Lake over President's Day and I was late. I wondered if I might be pregnant, but I didn't really want to get too excited in case I wasn't. I waited until after school on Tuesday to pick up a test. I could hardly wait to get home. About a second after I took the test the results showed I was pregnant. I didn't really believe it. I kept looking at the test, then back at the instructions, then back at the test....just to make sure i was really reading it right. then I called Matt who was at work and I couldn't get a hold of him so I kept calling and calling. Finally he called me back. He, too, didn't believe it. He thought I was joking.

We debated when to tell everyone. I have a really hard time keeping my own secrets so it was driving me nuts. We decided to go over to my parent's house on Friday evening, which was the next time Matt and I would both be off work and school. I made an invitation to a birthday party for "Baby Hawkins" for October 2010. I gave it to my mom and she got so excited and came over and hugged us. We then went to dinner and got ice cream to celebrate. The next Sunday Matt's parents invited us over for dinner. We picked up a little boy outfit and a little girl outfit and asked them which they thought we would have. They were very happy for us too.

We told our families after my first doctor's appointment, which was when I was about 9 weeks and just now, after reaching the end of my first trimester have we decided to let everyone know our exciting news.
I have had the fun, typical symptoms of an expectant mom - nausea, fatigue, heartburn, back pain, headaches, just to name a few. Matt has been very supportive and has not complained about hearing my complaints. I am not showing yet, but will post pictures when I start to pop out.
We are so happy and anxious to see our little one.
