Hospital Fun

After Amelia was born Matt took Katie home so the two of them could sleep in their own beds.  Amelia and I of course stayed at the hospital.  It was about 9:00 pm when we got up to the Maternity room and got settled.  My dad was able to sneak in and visit for a short bit.  I am so mad I didn't snap a photo of that.  It was so sweet.  She then went to the nursery to get all cleaned up and checked up by the Pediatrician.

I was able to see and feed her before she headed off back to the nursery so I could get some sleep.  She started out nursing like a champ and was so incredibly mild-mannered.  She was a very sleepy baby too.  We had to wake her up to feed her in the middle of the night.  This was VERY different from katie in that she basically was awake all night screaming.  I was very grateful for this new found quietness. :)

The next day was Friday.  matt took Katie to school and then headed to the hospital to be with me and Amelia for the day.  It was a very calm and enjoyable day.  She was sleeping and nursing like a pro!  We really could not get enough of her!!  Such an angel.

In the afternoon Matt went to pick up Katie and brought her to come see us.  She was so darn cute and just wanted to hold her brand new sister.  She hopped on the bed all by herself and said, "hold baby."

My girls.  Love them so much!!!

They then went home for the night.  I took a shower and just had a quiet little evening just me and Amelia.
That night, though, something switched and she started having problems breastfeeding.  Oh no!  She just wouldn't latch on and it was the same thing I had with katie all over again.  She still slept well and we got through the night.

The next day we were ready to go home.  We were just waiting for the doctor to release me.

So little in her car seat!

It was very cold and snowy outside so we bundled her all up, got in our new mini van and headed home.  Amelia gave Katie a horsey pillow pet, which she absolutely loved.  Katie has been a great big sister and has really taken a liking to her new role.  She always wants to make sure "baby" is taken care of.
