This summer has really been quite fun so far. I am loving Katie's age and how excited she is to go and do new things. It's like I am experiencing them for the first time watching her and it makes everything kind of a "new" fun for me. Below are just a couple of fun pics of our everyday life.
Excuse my house in the pictures below, but sometimes just hanging out and being with each other is just more important. Katie likes to be "in the action" and so we put up the latter and she climbs right up and "helps" out. I think it is so fun! One of her favorite things to do right now is empty things out and then put them back. Here she is emptying out our top "junk" drawer in her jammies one day.
We painted one of our walls in our family room and had some tape laying around. Kate was fascinated with it. Matt started with one bit of tape and she wanted to him to keep giving her more, which she then placed all over her face.
She then wanted to share and started putting it on our faces.
We spend lots of time outside playing with the dirt and water. She doesn't mind getting wet and dirty. She eats it up! Unfortuantely "eating it up" is quite literal sometimes.
We love to cook for fun at our house. This day we had made snickerdoodles. I didn't catch her right in the moment, but she was kissing it.
Okay. On to my actual post title...Memorial Day. After church on Sunday Matt's family came over to our house for a barbeque. Matt's sister Sarah and her family moved back to Utah from Texas after being away for 4 years and we are very happy to have them back. Jordan (8) and Taylor (5) are so great with Kate! She absolutely adores them and we are excited to have such great cousins in town for Kate to enjoy. Below are pictures of Jordan swinging Kate. She is like a big sister to her.
Hanging out after dinner.
After dinner we went and visited gravesights. I forgot my camera :( We saw Matt's dad's parents at the Sandy cemetery then went to the Murray cemetary to visit Matt's mom's parents. My Grandma and Grandpa Reynolds are also burried at the Murray cemetary. My sweet Grandma Ruth passed away last August so this was the first Memorial Day visiting her there. It was very special and touching to be able to spend the day thinking about how great each and every one was and how much they contributed to who we are today.
The next day we decided to go to the Gateway mall and visit the planetarium.
The is the best picture I could get of her "walking on the moon!" I love spending time with my little family.
